Consumers looking to expand their businesses via significant construction projects should consider taking out a specialist business loan such as a pub loan.

The advice follows reports that a Yorkshire publican has been granted planning permission for an ambitious pub redevelopment scheme.

Debbie Richmond, owner of the Rose and Crown in Little Driffield, is proposing to build a detached property within the car park of her pub.

The new extension will allow the pub to cater for more customers via special events such as private parties.

Under the approved plans, the car park will also be converted to allow more customers to park within the grounds of the pub, further reducing the amount of vehicles on the street.

East Riding of Yorkshire Council decided to grant planning permission on the grounds that the construction project would represent "a sustainable form of development and be acceptable in principle".

Publicans wishing to emulate the entrepreneurial example of the Rose and Crown should consider taking out a low-rate pub loan to fund their redevelopment projects.
