Pub owners considering buying LCD TV screens to install in their bars should take out a pub loan to fund the purchase.

Major UK pub chain JD Wetherspoon has today announced that it plans to install plasma screens in each of its 640 establishments around the country, at a cost of about £2,500 each.

JD Wetherspoon pubs have traditionally shunned TVs and music entirely, but a spokesman for the chain has denied the move is due to fears that hordes of customers would choose to drink elsewhere during this summer's football World Cup.

"That truly isn't the reason. We've had TVs in some of our pubs since 2002 and showed the Ashes last summer in a few places," he said.

The spokesman explained that the real reason behind the change of policy was new breakfast opening hours of 09:00 GMT.

"Customers will be able to watch the morning news while they are having their breakfast," he added.

Regardless of whether you plan to show live sport or just want to give your customers something to watch while they have their coffee and croissant, a specialist low-rate pub loan is an ideal way to fund significant business investments such as a new LCD TV screen.
